full-time, tenure-track assistant/associate level professor in
Elementary Mathematics/Science Education. The position will commence

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include teaching education courses at the
undergraduate level. The primary responsibility will involve teaching
elementary level teacher preparation courses. Successful applicants
must be committed to excellence in teaching, be adept at using
instructional technology, and be willing to collaborate with the
community and area schools to form productive partnerships.
Tenure-track faculty teach a three course load per semester, serve on
faculty committees, advise undergraduate students, supervise
candidates in field experiences, and participate in faculty
governance. Applicants should show enthusiasm for interdisciplinary
teaching and for participating in the colleges Integrated Studies
sequence, an innovative general education curriculum. The successful
applicant must demonstrate a strong potential for excellent teaching,
service in a college setting, and academic scholarship.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant should have earned a Ph.D. in Teacher
Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Curriculum and
Instruction, or another closely related field. ABD near completion
will also be considered. The applicant will be primarily responsible
for teaching elementary mathematics and science methods and content.
Applicants will possess comprehensive knowledge of elementary level
pedagogy as well as two years of full-time teaching experience in 1-6
elementary or equivalent classroom settings. In addition to successful
teaching skills, the applicant must also demonstrate effective
written, interpersonal, and collaborative communication skills.
PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified to teach in
additional content areas such as ELL, Social Studies, and/or
Environmental Studies.
