Duties: The Department of Educational Studies at the State University
of New York at New Paltz is seeking candidates for a tenure- track
Assistant Professor beginning in the fall of 2016. This faculty person
will teach graduate students in a Master’s Program in
Humanistic/Multicultural Education and teach graduate/undergraduate
courses in Educational Foundations. We seek an engaged teacher and
scholar who utilizes multicultural curriculum and culturally
responsive pedagogies. In addition to teaching, advising and
developing a strong scholarly agenda, the successful candidate will
participate in program development, review, and revision; take
leadership in social justice education programming and outreach; and
provide service to the school, university and community.

Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree in multicultural/social justice education or its
equivalent required; exceptional ABD candidates near completion will
be considered.
• Academic work grounded in social justice education, educational
foundations, humanistic psychology, and/or critical theory is
required.
• Strength using experiential pedagogies in teaching is required.
• Teaching experience in any of the following areas is desired:
educational foundations, qualitative research, group dynamics, or
conflict resolution.
