Faculty position: Assistant Professor in Higher Education, University of Maine

The University of Maine invites applications for an anticipated academic year, tenure track Assistant Professor in Higher Education beginning September 2016 (pending budgetary approval). The Higher Education graduate programs include the Ph.D. in Higher Education, which prepares mid-career professionals for programmatic and institutional leadership roles or faculty roles, and the Master’s in Student Development in Higher Education, which prepares entry-level professionals for work in student affairs in postsecondary institutions.

The UMaine program is distinctive as the only higher education-focused graduate program in the state.  Both the master's and doctoral degree programs offer academic concentrations and specializations that complement student professional goals, course offerings through videoconference technologies, and a strong emphasis on diversity and social justice throughout the curriculum.  Given this emphasis, the program seeks individuals who have interests, background, and scholarly expertise related to identity development, multiculturalism, and social justice issues in higher education.

The position is open until filled, however, applications received after the first screening date of December 15, 2015 will be considered at the discretion of the University.
