Assistant Professor, Higher Education Administration
The Department of Educational Administration and Policy Studies at the University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for Assistant Professor (tenure track) with specialization in Higher Educational Administration. The Department seeks diverse candidates who demonstrate excellent ability in research, teaching, and service. This new position combines opportunities to further develop the program in higher education administration with particular attention to student affairs, student assessment, and/or retention/persistence, to undertake research related to leadership and organizational development broadly relevant to practice, and to engage with colleagues whose interests and work span pre-K to post-graduate education, domestic and international. The Department has a core interest in preparing students to be innovative scholar-leaders, and our expertise is applied to local, national, and global problems in education across the lifespan. We are looking for applicants who bring unique perspectives to the study of higher education, including those who draw from experience and interests in diverse groups and/or diverse educational settings. The ideal candidate will complement the strengths and expertise currently in the Department, while establishing his or her own distinct profile of scholarship, teaching, and service. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Preferred qualifications:
An active research program in higher education administration with attention to student affairs, student assessment, and/or retention/persistence, as evidenced by scholarly and professional publications and/or external funding; expertise in organizational analysis and development; ability to teach graduate courses; and experience in higher education administration.
Review of materials will begin on December 1, 2015. The search will remain open until the position is filled. The start date is anticipated to be September 1, 2016.
