The Department of Educational Studies at the University of South
Carolina College of Education is seeking applications for a full-time
tenure track position in Educational Technology at the rank of
Assistant Professor to begin August 2016.

The Educational Technology program at the University of South Carolina
currently offers the M.Ed. as a collaborative degree between the main
USC Columbia campus and the USC Aiken campus, which borders the state
of Georgia. Began as a hybrid program, the graduate degree is now
completely online, serving professionals across SC and in bordering
states. In addition, the program helps to lead the rapidly growing
online Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, which comprises a
concentration and cognate in Educational Technology. The USC College
of Education’s online graduate education programs have been ranked
18th nationally for 2015 by U.S. News & World Report.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a team of faculty and will be
expected to: (1) teach courses online at the graduate level in areas
such as instructional systems design, instructional development, web
accessibility, applied cognition, technology integration, and distance
education; (2) provide advisement to graduate students in M.Ed. in
Educational Technology and Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a
concentration in Educational Technology; (3) participate in program
admissions, evaluations, and development; (4) establish a strong and
ongoing agenda for research; (5) seek external funding; and (6) serve
on departmental, college, and university committees as assigned.

Qualifications
Applicants must have (1) an earned doctorate at time of appointment in
Educational/Instructional Technology or closely related area, (2)
ability to teach online and advise graduate students at the master’s
and doctoral levels, (3) evidence of a focused scholarly agenda, (4)
experience/potential to develop extramural funding, and (4) the
ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.

Preference will be given to applicants with (1) expertise in web
accessibility and Universal Design for Learning, (2) demonstrated
experience in advising doctoral student research, (3) significant
development skills in interactive learning environments, or (4)
experiences in K-12 technology integration leadership.

the position is filled.
