POSITION TITLE:
Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track), Bilingual/Bicultural Education.
To begin Fall 2014

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, seeks applicants for a tenure track position in Bilingual/Bicultural Education for fall 2014. Successful candidates will:
·      Conduct scholarly research within a well-articulated research agenda
·      Teach in our undergraduate field-based bilingual teacher preparation program and in our Bilingual/Bicultural Education graduate programs
·      Obtain external funding for research and development projects
·      Supervise doctoral students
·      Work collaboratively in a program and department committed to issues of equity, cultural relevance, and social justice.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Bilingual Education or a related field (such as Educational Linguistics; Language, Literacy and Culture in Education; etc.) with a specialization in elementary teaching -- e.g. reading/language arts, math, science, or social studies. Candidates must also have a minimum of three years of K-12 teaching experience and demonstrate the ability to teach university courses in Spanish/English. Salary is competitive based on education, experience, and the University’s salary schedule.
