Open Rank - Ed.D. in Educational Leadership
The Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at California State University, San Bernardino seeks an open rank (tenure-track) faculty member with an emphasis on community college/higher education leadership, policy, and research and who also can teach quantitative methods. Candidates with a record of our commitment to applied quantitative research methods and design related to community “problems of practice” will be given strong consideration. We are particularly interested in a 21st Century scholar who brings a critical theoretical and practical perspective that situates community colleges/higher education in the larger context of the educational pipeline. Our Ed.D. Program embraces principles of diversity, equity, and social justice and is actively engaging stakeholders, including new faculty, to define what that means for the challenges facing education in our region and country. We seek applicants who have experience in community college leadership and who can apply the realities facing diverse communities particularly in community college leadership, critical analysis of educational policy at the community college level, and a disposition towards analyzing, understanding, and proposing policies and practices that promote and expand educational equity, access, and outcomes for historically marginalized communities. Required Qualifications: 1) earned doctorate in higher education/educational policy or closely related field,2) experience in teaching and leading at the community college, Preferred Qualifications: 1) commitment, expertise, or potential to teach introductory and advanced quantitative methods, 2) a record or potential to establish a solid research agenda, 3) commitment to serve, mentor, and guide a diverse group of doctoral candidates through the dissertation process, 4) commitment to establish research and service partnerships with local K-16 institutions that meet the goals and mission of the program and university.

Assistant Professor – Educational Administration
We welcome applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track position, Educational Administration. Required qualifications for this position include: (1) earned doctorate in Educational Administration/Leadership, (2) candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and skill sufficient for teaching credential and Master’s degree courses in educational administration/leadership, (3) experiences in K-12 teaching, counseling, or other service credential position, (4) experience in a K-12 setting as an administrator; (5) demonstrated commitment to diversity and social justice issues. Preferred qualifications for this position include: (1) commitment to service in the department, college and university, (2) some experience with online instruction and distributed learning desirable, and (3) prior student fieldwork supervision experience, and (4) evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is highly valued.

Open Rank - Bilingual Education and Biliteracy
The College of Education invites applications for a tenure-track position (open rank) in bilingual education and biliteracy. An earned doctorate in bilingual education or related discipline is required. Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and skill sufficient for teaching both teacher credential and graduate level literacy-related courses. Candidates must be able to articulate a coherent vision of biliteracy that capitalizes on students’ multilingual skills, diverse knowledge, skills, abilities, and backgrounds; to implement curricula to meet academic standards in Spanish and English; be skilled in creating a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment; and be passionate about closing the achievement gap and ensuring that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, receives an excellent education. Experience in online instruction and distributed learning is desirable. Proficiency in Spanish is required; a teaching credential with bilingual authorization or California BCLAD is also required. All credential coursework focuses on the preparation of teachers for linguistically and culturally diverse students. Field supervision of student teachers and interns is expected. Advising students, scholarly and service activities related to the position are also components of the assignment. Minimum qualifications: 1) bilingual credential and experience in teaching in a bilingual school classroom, 2) knowledge of and experience with K-12 bilingual, dual immersion curricula, instruction, classroom management, and assessment, 3) commitment to and/or expertise in communicating and collaborating with an ethnically, linguistically, and culturally diverse campus community, 4) evidence of scholarly and/or creative activity appropriate to rank, related to bilingual and/ or dual immersion programs K-12. Preferred qualifications: 1) expertise in first- and second-language acquisition and the connection between home language literacy and second-language development, 2) knowledge of the language and literacy demands inherent in content-area instruction for English language learners (e.g., linguistic demands language function and form, audience and purpose, academic vocabulary, comprehension of multiple oral and written genres), 3) knowledge of how to apply appropriate pedagogical practices informed by sound theory and research that provide access to the core curriculum and lead to high achievement for English Learners.
