Qualifications: equired: Earned doctorate in Education or a related
field. Candidate must have an active record of scholarship in field of
expertise, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and demonstrated
ability to seek and secure grant funding in the areas of multicultural
education,general or subject-specific teacher education, and/or
teacher professional development. Experience teaching in K-12 schools.
Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to
working in a diverse community and should work well in collaborative
settings.
Preferred: Research and experience in multicultural education, teacher
education, and/or teacher professional development, particularly in
the preparation of beginning teachers to work in multicultural
contexts. Experience teaching in public secondary classrooms with
culturally and linguistically diverse students. Experience with using
technology to enhance instruction. The Department of Secondary
Education is especially interested in candidates committed to social
justice and who have experience with educational networks and/or
school-based reforms that serve low income communities.
Responsibilities: Chair the Department of Secondary Education and
coordinate the Single Subject credential program. Participate in
developing school/university partnerships. Participate in and take a
leadership role in committee work at all levels of the University and
in curriculum/program support and development. Maintain an active
research program and participate in scholarly associations at the
regional, state, and national levels. Candidates must address the
needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural
background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation –
through course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement. The
administrative responsibilities of this position comprise .80 time.
Additional responsibilities may include teaching a course or
supervising student teachers in the Department of Secondary Education.
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

3. Assistant/Associate faculty position (tenure track) in Educational
Leadership at Miami University
Position Duties: Primary responsibilities include teaching graduate
courses in educational leadership, and undergraduate courses in a new
minor in community-based leadership; advising students and directing
graduate dissertations and research; conducting research;
participation in school and community partnership activities, as well
as university and professional service.
Required Qualifications: 1) earned doctorate in Educational
Leadership, Administration, or a related field from an accredited
institution of higher education; 2) established record (for
appointment to Associate) or promise of (for appointment to Assistant)
research and scholarship in the fields of educational leadership,
educational reform, or educational change; 3) evidence of commitment
to high quality, innovative teaching; 4) evidence of experience and
skill in quantitative research, expertise in evaluation or assessment,
measurement or statistics; 5) knowledge of multicultural education or
background in working with diverse student populations and/or families
in K-12 environments. ABD applicants will be considered (for
appointment to Assistant) but the doctorate must be completed by the
time of appointment.
Desired Qualifications: Successful applicants will be those who bring
K-12 school-based experience in practice, research, or partnerships
linking schools and communities in educational reform projects.
Candidates with experience or background working or teaching in the
areas of educational or organizational leadership, strategic planning,
or school law preferred. Experience in teaching or developing
effective on-line or hybrid learning environments is desired;
international experience/focus is desired.

4. Tenure-Track Position in Qualitative Research Methods

The Qualitative Research program at the University of Georgia is
pleased to announce an open rank tenure-track position to be filled at
the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, commensurate with
qualifications and scholarly record. Typically, within the open–rank
classification, candidates with no prior work experience following the
earning of a doctorate would be hired at the assistant professor rank;
candidates with a minimum of 6 years of work experience after earning
a doctorate would be considered for the associate professor rank; and
candidates with a minimum of 10 years of work experience after earning
a doctorate would be considered for the full professor rank. The area
of qualitative methods specialization for the candidate’s research and
teaching assignment is open. The ideal candidate will be well prepared
in the broad range of theoretical frameworks for qualitative inquiry,
have sound knowledge of the history and variety of qualitative
research methodologies, as well as expertise in a methodological area
that would complement the range of existing faculty areas of
expertise.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate at the time of employment
with a specialization in Qualitative Methods or a closely related
field, and a strong record of scholarly research in an area relevant
to the Qualitative Research program. Depending on rank, the successful
applicant will be expected to provide senior leadership in the
Qualitative Research program, and contribute to the development and
delivery of blended coursework for on-campus courses, as well as a
fully on-line version of the existing Graduate Certificate in
Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies. The successful applicant will
maintain an active research program, demonstrate effectiveness in
teaching, and advise and mentor students in the newly-approved Ph.D.
degree in Research and Evaluation Methodologies (jointly administered
with the Quantitative Research program), as well serve as
methodologist on committees throughout the university. The candidate
will also actively seek external funding and participate in faculty
governance. This position requires teaching the equivalent of two
graduate-level courses per semester in the program. Compensation is
