Tenure-track Position in EducationMillsaps College, a nationally recognized, selective four-year liberal arts college in Jackson, Mississippi, announces a full-time tenure track position in literacy education, available Fall 2014.Position DescriptionThe successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, including one or more courses in our literacy sequence. Additional courses will depend on the candidate’s interests and expertise. Millsaps faculty members are teacher-scholars; the successful candidate will also develop a research agenda that complements his/her activities in the classroom. Support for research development and travel is available.We are especially interested in candidates who hold or are near completion of an earned doctorate in literacy or reading education or a closely related field; have a solid record of teaching in P-12 settings; can demonstrate potential as a scholar; and have an interest in preparing teachers to work in urban settings.
