The Department of Educational
Studies at Swarthmore College invites applications for a tenure track position in
Educational Policy at the level of assistant professor beginning in Fall 2014. Applicants
should hold a doctoral degree in education (or a related field) and be
committed to combining teaching and research at a small liberal arts college.
Experience teaching in K-12 schools is preferred.
We are especially interested
in applicants whose scholarship focuses on educational policy and practice,
past and present, at local, national and/or international levels. Teaching
responsibilities include a general course in educational policy and an honors
seminar in some aspect of educational policy. Other teaching would include some
combination of educational foundations, research methods, thesis supervision and
possibly a methods course for student teachers and/or supervision of student
teachers.
