ANZSANA will hold its annual conference at the University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin) located in Austin, Texas. ANZSANA is a multidisciplinary organization and welcomes papers on any aspect of Australian or New Zealand studies as well as comparative studies involving Australia, New Zealand, and North America. It welcomes proposals for individual papers as well as proposals for panels by groups of scholars. 
The DEADLINE for submission of paper and panel proposals is 31 OCTOBER 2013. Notices of acceptance will be sent no later than 1 December 2013. Paper proposals must include the author’s name and institutional affiliation, a curriculum vita (CV), the title of the paper, and an abstract of no more than 500 words. Documents must be attached to an email as either a Word or PDF document. Panel proposals must include similar information for each of the proposed papers and authors. ANZSANA welcomes submissions from graduate students and offers a limited number of travel grants to facilitate their participation. Graduate students must indicate their status as such in their paper proposals in order to be considered for a grant. Conference panels will be held Friday and Saturday in the Julius Glickman Conference Center located in the College of Liberal Arts building on the UT-Austin campus. The Edward A. Clark Center for Australian and New Zealand Studies will host a welcome reception on the evening of Thursday, February 4 at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center. A formal banquet dinner will be held at the Carillon Restaurant, also in the AT&T Center, at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 5. 
A conference registration fee of USD $175.00 includes a one-year ANZSANA membership as well as breakfast and lunch on both Friday and Saturday. The formal banquet dinner will cost an additional $50 (a real bargain for a three-course, sit-down meal at the highly regarded Carillon, http://www.thecarillonrestaurant.com/). It will also feature a special keynote speaker. 
The AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center, located on the UT-Austin campus, offers conference attendees a special rate at of $174/night (plus taxes) so long as they book before FRIDAY, 14 JANUARY 2014 and indicate their affiliation with ANZSANA at the time of booking.
