BREAKING: Texas is trying to license family detention. Take action to stop it

BREAKING: The state of Texas is considering licensing family detention centers as childcare facilities. But people are already fighting back. More than 140 organizations and individuals this week sent a letter to Texas state officials urging them to deny child care licenses to private prison companies operating family detention camps in South Texas.
Can you send your own message to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Department of Family & Protective Services Commissioner John Specia?
Your petition will go directly to the offices of Texas Gov. Abbott and DFPS Commissioner Specia and reads in part:
"I’m writing today to add my voice to those with deep concerns about the possibility that the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) may license two huge family immigration detention camps in Karnes County and Dilley as child care facilities. ... Please reconsider this move, allow comments, and halt the licensing process for the Karnes and Dilley detention camps."
