Degree and area of specialization:
An earned doctoral degree in ESL Education, Education Linguistics, or related area by position start date.
 
  
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Experience working with schools, programs, teachers, students and community members from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Experience teaching (English) language through content at the elementary, middle or secondary level is desirable.
Principal duties:
Conduct research and scholarly inquiry concerning the educaton of English learners.
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses related to the educaton of English learners.
Advise graduate and undergraduate students.
Provide leadership in the field at the international, national, state, and university levels.
Collaborate with colleagues on initiative and program design, implementation, and maintenance.
Provide service to the department, university, public, and profession.
