Call for Abstracts SPECIAL EVENT: AAA 2014 – Council on Anthropology and Education, Works-In-Progress Discussion

SPECIAL EVENT: AAA 2014 – Council on Anthropology and Education
> Works-In-Progress Discussion
>
> Call for Abstracts
>
> For the past several years, this Special Event has been one of the highlights of the CAE program. In the CAE tradition, established scholars in the field of anthropology of education will meet informally with small groups of newcomers to the field, who will share their research topics and questions. This special event will foster discussion of emerging ideas and the creation of collegial networks.
>
> The CAE Works-In-Progress Discussion will take place at the AAA annual meetings in Washington, D.C. on Friday, December 5 from 9:15am-11:00am.
>
> If you are a graduate student, a scholar seeking tenure, or a practitioner early in your career, you are encouraged to sign up ahead of time in order to be assigned to one of the small groups.
>
> Here’s how to sign up:
> o Please submit an abstract or short piece of writing (up to 2,000 words), which will be read by the group members. Everyone will be accepted; the writing is not a test, just a way to have a richer discussion.
> o Include your contact information and three keywords that describe your research interests so you can be assigned to a group with others who share your interests.
> o If there’s any background information you would like your group to have, please include it in the attachment and not in the e-mail itself.
> o If you know that you are or were a student of one of the senior scholars, indicate that in the e-mail so you can be assigned to a different group.
> o Email your abstract or writing by October 27, 2014 to angelina.castagno@nau.edu with the subject heading “WIP 2014 participant.”
> o Attach the abstract or writing as a Word or RTF document; please name the file “[your last name] CAE WIP 2014”
>
> If you have any questions, email Angelina Castagno at angelina.castagno@nau.edu.
>
> All are welcome to come and join the discussions, but they will be focused on the work of those who submitted writing ahead of time.
>
> Looking forward to receiving your work!
