CALL FOR PROPOSALS: International Society for Language Studies (ISLS) deadline October 31, 2014

The International Society for Language Studies (ISLS) is pleased to announce that the proposal system for the 2013 conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico remains open until October 31, 2014 (http://isls.co/index-2.html). The theme of the conference will be "Critical Language Studies: Focusing on Community,"  and we encourage presenters to explicitly discuss how their presentation is relevant to their understanding of the relationship between language and community. The conference will be held at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town from June 18-20, 2015.

Given the multilingual experiences of New Mexico and the US Southwest at large, we welcome presentations in English, Spanish, and/or Navajo. We ask that you submit your proposal in English, however, and indicate where prompted in the submission system in which language you will share your presentation.

We look forward to receiving your proposal and hope you will share this announcement widely with colleagues (including graduate students)! In addition to submitting proposals, graduate students are also invited to apply for the ISLS Graduate Student Conference Registration Fee Waiver by submitting the attached form. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer directly (wooten@email.unc.edu).

Best wishes,

Jennifer Wooten, Paul Miller, and Erin Mikulec
ISLS 2015 Conference Chairs
