UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN, Department of Religious Studies, invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in the field of Latin American Religions, including Religions of the Borderlands, to begin Fall 2015. We especially encourage applicants who have familiarity with methodological and theoretical issues in the study of religion and who can contribute to a graduate program in Religious Studies. The successful applicants will demonstrate expertise in the study of Latin American  or Borderlands religions and should be able to teach a graduate class on approaches to Latin American religions. The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate research productivity; to teach undergraduate and graduate courses; to direct graduate research; to participate in departmental colloquia; and to offer service to the department, college and university. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants should have received the Ph.D. prior to August 31, 2015, supply evidence of teaching excellence, and demonstrate a clearly defined research agenda.
