Indiana University’s nationally recognized Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) program is seeking applications for a tenured professor or associate professor position at the Bloomington campus. The person filling this position will collaborate with colleagues at the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses in teaching, advising, research, and service in higher education and student affairs.

The HESA program seeks a scholar with an established record of teaching and scholarship. The successful candidate will complement the existing strengths of the HESA program and its associated School of Education research center, the Center for Postsecondary Research (CPR).

Candidates should demonstrate a strong record of scholarly publication and an established program of research with an associated record of external funding. A record of teaching and research on issues of diversity and the experiences of students or faculty from historically underrepresented groups is highly desirable. Active involvement and leadership in professional associations is highly valued as is good citizenship in the program and department.

Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) is the flagship campus of Indiana University’s eight campuses. IUB has 13 schools enrolling approximately 40,000 students. The School of Education is one school that operates on the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses. The HESA program is housed within the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Located approximately one hour south of Indianapolis, Bloomington offers a vibrant array of artistic and cultural opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in higher education, student affairs administration, or a related field and have graduate-level teaching experience as well as an established program of research. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of external funding to support their scholarship. Ideal candidates will also have developed and taught graduate courses in higher education and student affairs, advised master’s and doctoral students, and have relevant administrative experience in higher education.
