OYE will take place in Santa Maria, California on April, 12, 2014.
The Oaxaqueño Youth Encuentro committee consists of various oaxaqueño youth and young adults from throughout California; each member represents their own network of youth working for positive change in their respective communities.
OYE’s goal is to create a network of oaxaqueño youth in order to build support for each other. We want to open a space to exchange our culture, talent, success, challenges, and the changes we are building in our regions. OYE attempts to bring youth from different regions of the state; currently, we have representatives from San Diego, Oxnard, Los Angeles, Santa Maria, Fresno, Greenfield and Watsonville. However, since this is OYE’s first year, the group is limited in funds.
To make OYE happen we would like to ask YOU for support. OYE needs money to pay for the space, food and transportation of youth to Santa Maria. We would be grateful if YOU could donate to OYE in order to alleviate some of the expenses. In exchange we will add your organization logo to the flyer and other OYE related materials.
We appreciate your time and consideration to our request. We look forward to working with you in creating a stronger community. Also, please spread the word with your networks about OYE!
