General Policies

1. The Proposal Committee will select presentations based on the quality of the proposal, as well as the critical need for ethno-linguistic, geographic, and topic representation in the field. Presentations that are interactive, engage the audience, and that focus on effective and research-based classroom instructional practice and strategies are encouraged.

2. If your presentation is selected, it is the responsibility of the presenter(s) to appear at the TABE conference and make the agreed upon presentation. If unforeseen circumstances arise which prevent the presenter(s) from appearing at a scheduled session, it is the presenter's responsibility to arrange for someone to take his/her place and to send notice of replacement no later than September 27, 2014, to proposals@tabe.org

3. ALL PRESENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE. The lead presenter will receive a discounted registration rate of $170 for the full conference. There will be NO complimentary registration for presenter(s) nor will any honoraria be paid to presenters.

4. All hard copies and handouts for the presentation are the responsibility of the presenter.

5. Notification of acceptance or rejection of proposals will be emailed to the lead presenter. It is the lead presenter's responsibility to inform other presenters of the status of the presentation.

6. Publisher and commercial developers of educational materials wishing to make presentations must be exhibiting at the TABE conference to be considered.

7. Only proposals that conform to all the requirements stated in this Call for Proposals will be considered. Although every effort will be made to reply to correspondence, severe constraints on time and funds may not allow for follow-up calls or correspondence. TABE reserves the right to edit material such as presentation titles and presentation descriptions as necessary for the conference program.

8. The McAllen Convention Center is pleased to offer free Wi-Fi for you to stay connected. If your laptop is not equipped with a built-in wireless transmitter you will need a wireless adapter that plugs into the PC card slot or USB port. Additionally, each room will be equipped with a screen, a projector and a presenters table. It is the lead presenters' responsibility to bring any adapters needed to connect your laptop, Mac Book or iPad to the projector.
