Job Description
The School of Education at Boston University invites applications for a full-time, tenured
Associate Professor of Literacy Education with a specialization in disciplinary learning to more effectively prepare teachers to meet the disciplinary learning needs of PreK-6 students, beginning July 1, 2016. Responsibilities will include co-construction and co- teaching of undergraduate and graduate methods courses in social studies, science, or mathematics with a focus on introducing students to approaches to teaching and learning that effectively join the development of deep content knowledge and deep understanding of pedagogies that support both literacy and content learning.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate in Literacy Education or a related
field; will have a substantial record of scholarship related to disciplinary literacy teaching and learning and experience collaborating with university and PreK-6 disciplinary learning colleagues. Preference will be given to candidates whose work has included research and practice related to culturally-relevant pedagogies and teaching for social justice and to those with experience working in PreK-6 schools that serve students in underserved communities.
