The core purpose of the Multicultural Engagement Center (MEC) is to transform the lives of students by providing leadership development, educational opportunities, and culturally relevant and social justice focused support services. Additional Information

PurposeThe Director of the Multicultural Engagement Center (MEC) will be responsible for providing program, personnel, and budgetary leadership and oversight for the MEC.
Essential FunctionsProvide administrative leadership and oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of services and programs for the Multicultural Engagement Center. Develop and implement strategic goals, initiatives and objectives to guide the operations of the Center. Provide supervision to the Center's staff. Set priorities, evaluate job performance, provide direction and engage in or initiate and participate in the planning of staff development needs, discussions and decisions. Create and execute educational and leadership development training opportunities and services for students. Manage the Center's financial budget. Develop budget projections, forecast budget requirements, collect and analyze data, and create related administrative and budget reports. Interface with other Division of Diversity and Community Engagement (DDCE) and University programs and centers in support of the Center's mission. Serve as a member of relevant committees within the DDCE and the University.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications
Master's degree. 5-7 years of professional experience working with multicultural and diverse student populations. Actively involved in professional development about multicultural and diverse student populations. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
Competencies in social justice education and facilitation, student affairs theory and practice, student identity development, multicultural program development, implementation, management and evaluation.
