Human Geography Small Grants Program

Human Geography Small Grants Program
A huge effort, in terms of labor and time, over 7 years, has produced both a viable new radical journal and a surplus of funds that can be used to support radical activism, research, writing. So the Institute for Human Geography announces its small grant program (up to $5,000 per grant) and invites applications. The main criteria on which proposals will be examined include

Radical potential of the work
Effectiveness of the proposal
Eventual contribution to Human Geography journal
Past commitment to Human Geography (article, subscription, review of article, etc)
Applications consisting of the following will be reviewed by a Committee consisting of the Editor, the Web Editor, the Book Review Editor and the Opinions Editor:

Cover page with names and affiliations of the applicant(s); short summary of previous work; statement on the radical character of the proposed research or activism; statement on the possible publication of results in Human Geography; statement on the applicant’s past commitment to the journal.
This should be followed by a five-paged, double-spaced explanation of the work to be supported.
A one-paged budget detailing what the funds would be spent on.
The application package should be emailed to Institute for Human Geography: insthugeog@gmail.com before two annual deadlines of April 1 and September 1.
