Applications for AISD UpClose are now being accepted for the 2014–15
school year. The deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 8.
Created in 2007, AISD UpClose offers parents and community members a
chance to learn about the Austin Independent School District.
Through monthly meetings, UpClose participants learn about the
district's infrastructure, programs and services, and also about the
district's challenges and opportunities. UpClose classes meet at
various district sites to get an inside look at key programs.
AISD UpClose graduates will be challenged to become leaders and
advocates for the district, to volunteer on committees and task
forces, to speak up when misinformation is circulating, and to
encourage other parents and community members to get informed and
involved.
The UpClose class for the 2014–15 school year begins in September and
ends in May 2015. Click here for an online application.
Please contact Linda Medina at (512) 414-9706 or email
linda.medina@austinisd.org if you have any questions about the
program.
