Dear Colleague:
Rigorous research is at the heart of all ETS assessments. This issue of ETS Education Research Update features the extensive research and development work that took place to produce the GRE® revised General Test.
The work conducted by ETS researchers, test developers and psychometricians is featured in the newly released compilation, The Research Foundation for the GRE® revised General Test: A Compendium of Studies, published by ETS this month.
The Compendium is a comprehensive collection of the research efforts and other activities that led to the launch of the GRE revised General Test in August 2011. It presents summaries of nearly a decade of research as well as previously unreleased information about the revised test. The Compendium offers readers insight on such areas as the rationale for revising the test, the development process, test design, score scales, automated scoring, validity, fairness and accessibility.
To view the Compendium, visit www.ets.org/gre/compendium. For more information about the GRE revised General Test, go to www.ets.org/gre.
We hope that you find this edition of ETS Education Research Update informative and useful. Please share it with your colleagues and invite them to join our mailing list.
Sincerely,
Educational Testing Service
