Assistant Professor (Fixed Term) Faculty Position, Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education


The Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education (HALE) Program at Michigan State University invites outstanding candidates to apply for a two-year fixed term position in the Department of Educational Administration at the Assistant Professor level (non-tenure stream).  Appointment begins in August, 16, 2014.

Our current complement of fourteen full-time faculty members covers a wide range of curricular and research interests.  We seek a colleague who will enhance our current strengths as well as bring complementary professional expertise and skills to our community, including the HALE Center for Higher and Adult Education. The Center focuses on domestic and international higher education policy, which increasingly plays an important role in the HALE curricula and research agendas. 

We encourage individuals with credentials in the following scholarly areas to apply: postsecondary learning, students, and diversity and equity.  The candidate is expected to teach graduate courses, advise students, and provide service to department and college communities.  Required qualifications include:  (1) an earned doctoral degree in education or a related social science discipline, (2) ability to assume teaching assignments both in face-to-face and online environments in topical areas addressed in the HALE program.
