Job Summary
Cleveland State University is searching for active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in social foundations of education as well as other courses in the department’s curriculum; support and engage undergraduate teacher candidates in field-based partnerships with local urban schools; maintain productivity in scholarly work; advise graduate students and graduate research; fulfill other research, community, and university services, as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in social foundations of education, policy studies, or an academic discipline with demonstrated focus on education by May 31, 2017. Evidence of active or emerging scholarship
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of successful university teaching in social foundations or related foundations courses; record of scholarship in social foundations or related fields; at least two years of PreK-12 teaching experience or equivalent; experience in a multicultural and/or urban educational setting; demonstrated commitment to social justice evident in teaching, research, and/or service; record or potential for attracting external funding, and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
