Faculty position: Tenure-track job for Native North Americanist in Anthropology at Pacific Lutheran University

The Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) department of anthropology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in cultural anthropology beginning September 2017. The position is for a Native North Americanist, although an additional geographic area of interest would be a plus.  Specialty in the local or regional communities of Pacific Northwest is preferred.  Topical areas should include medical and/or environmental anthropology.  The position will include teaching a) upper-division courses in Native North America, Medical Anthropology, and/or Environmental Anthropology, b) lower division courses in Cultural Anthropology and Global Studies, and c) other courses including our senior capstone sequence.  A strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service is required. The department also seeks scholars interested in pursuing student/faculty research and/or collaborative and interdisciplinary opportunities with the university’s diverse faculty.  PhD in Anthropology.  ABD will be considered but PhD must be in hand by September 1, 2017.
