Position description:
Texas State University is a designated Hispanic serving institution.
To this end, we value community engagement, diversity, student
success, and a special focus on social justice. We are seeking to fill
a tenured faculty position at the rank of associate professor or
professor in elementary bilingual education in the Department of
Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. This is a
full-time position with a nine-month academic year appointment
beginning in Fall 2017. The selected faculty member will: 1) deliver
quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses in the
elementary bilingual education program; 2) expand a focused area of
scholarship in bilingual education or in a closely related field
(i.e., multilingualism, multiculturalism, multilingual literacies,
language policies and practices, teacher education) that culminates in
nationally/internationally refereed publications, professional
presentations, submitted grant proposals (i.e. external funding), and
scholarly projects with faculty and students; and, 3) provide
leadership by helping to grow the bilingual education graduate and
undergraduate programs. The salary is competitive and commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
