Christine E. Sleeter, PhD. is Professor Emerita in the College of Professional Studies at California State University Monterey Bay. Her discussion will be on Reclaiming Democracy by Awakening Historical Memory.  Christine Sleeter will argue that white fear of demographic shifts underlies much resistance to culturally responsive education, particularly Mexican American Studies  and that this resistance is bolstered by the myth...
