University of Kansas announces two tenure track faculty position opportunities in the Curriculum and Teaching Department: Assistant Professor in Multicultural Education and Assistant Professor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).


The University of Kansas announces two tenure track faculty position opportunities in the Curriculum and Teaching Department:  Assistant Professor in Multicultural Education and Assistant Professor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

The University of Kansas is a Division I Research Institution with an enrollment of approximately 27,000 students.  The community of Lawrence has a population of 80,000, is located 30 miles west of Kansas City and 20 miles east of Topeka, the state capital.  The University’s main campus is in Lawrence.  School of Education programs are also offered through the KU Edwards campus in the Kansas City area.  The Department of Curriculum & Teaching is the largest of the five departments in the School of Education.

Responsibilities:  Teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses, advise master’s and doctoral graduate students.  Develop and maintain an active scholarly research agenda and participate in external research and grant activities.  Contribute to professional service at all levels.
Assistant Professor – TESOL

Required Qualifications:
·         Earned doctorate (by August 15, 2014) with an emphasis in TESOL, EFL, or related second/additional language acquisition studies.
·         Emerging record of scholarship in TESOL, EFL or related second/additional language acquisition studies.
·         Minimum two years of experience as a PreK-12th grade TESOL teacher in a U.S. or international school setting.
·         Emerging record of successful university-level teaching.
·         Experience collaborating with PreK-12th grade school professional.
