The College of Education at University of West Georgia invites applications for a dynamic leader to chair the Department of Educational Technology and Foundations. This cross-disciplinary department includes programs in Instructional Technology, School Library Media, and School Improvement. The department also provides courses in Research, Educational Psychology, and Educational Foundations which support a variety of programs throughout the College of Education. A proactive team pursuing innovative practices in teaching, learning, and technology integration, the College offers mentoring for new faculty, assistance seeking research funding, and opportunities to work with graduate students at all levels. The University of West Georgia is doctoral granting and NCATE accredited, a recognized leader in preparing exemplary practitioners for all educational roles. One of Georgia’s four robust-tier universities, the University is a rapidly growing institution located approximately 50 minutes west of Atlanta. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Earned doctorate required in Instructional Systems Technology,
• School Library Media, Distance Learning, Educational Research, Program Evaluation, Educational Psychology, Foundations or related field.
• Record of teaching, scholarship, and service in higher education sufficient to qualify for rank of Associate or Full Professor and secure tenure.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department and in other departments as appropriate.
• Experience or demonstrated potential to lead a diverse and innovative academic department. Ability to: evaluate and mentor faculty and staff; develop, support, and manage hybrid and fully online programs; and develop and promote inter- departmental and college programs.
• Experience or demonstrated potential to encourage, secure, and manage externally-funded projects.
• Experience or demonstrated potential to use data for program development and improvement.
• Three or more years of P-12 classroom and/or administrative experience preferred.
