ACLS Launches 2014 Public Fellows Competition

Deadline:  March 19, 2014

Consider calling to the attention of recent PhDs in the humanities the American Council of Learned Societies’ fourth competition of the Public Fellows program. The program will place 20 fellows in two-year staff positions at partnering organizations in government and the nonprofit sector (including CIC, United Negro College Fund, and the Smithsonian). This career-building initiative aims to demonstrate that the capacities developed in the advanced study of the humanities have wide application both within and beyond the academy. Applicants must possess U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status and have a PhD in the humanities or humanistic social sciences conferred between June 2011 and May 31, 2014.
