ASSOCIATE/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TENURE-TRACK), INTERNATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION

The School of Education, Loyola University Chicago announces a
tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate level with primary
teaching, research and service responsibilities in International
Higher Education. The selected individual will join faculty in the
Cultural and Educational Policy Studies and Higher Education programs
who teach in the School's NCATE-accredited undergraduate and graduate
programs, all of which are shaped around the School's conceptual
framework of advancing professionalism in the service of social
justice. Loyola’s new International Higher Education graduate program
currently offers a global online cohort M.Ed. degree which draws
together the fields of comparative, international & higher education.

The selected individual will teach graduate courses in international
higher education and additionally in such areas as leadership, student
development, social justice, history of higher education, education
abroad, policy analysis and comparative education. She or he will
supervise master's theses and doctoral dissertations and conduct an
active research and publication program. An individual hired at the
Associate rank will be expected to assume leadership for the
International Higher Education program.

Required qualifications include: earned doctorate in relevant field,
teaching experience at the post-secondary level, and evidence of
scholarly work appropriate to rank. Desirable qualifications include
online and hybrid teaching experience and ability to contribute to
undergraduate programs in Leadership and/or Education Policy Studies.

Senior Assistant/Associate Professor, Urban Education/Social
Foundations of Education - Indiana University School of Education

We seek outstanding candidates with research, teaching, and civic
engagement interests specifically related to a focus on social
foundations of education, especially within urban contexts.  This
position will be involved with our new doctoral program in Urban
Education Studies that is integrally linked to our mission of
community collaboration, social justice, and research.  In addition,
we have teacher education, special education, and counseling programs
that utilize foundations-oriented courses. The Indiana University
School of Education at Indiana University-Purdue University,
Indianapolis (IUPUI) is nationally recognized for its commitment to
civic engagement and is located at a large urban research campus in
the heart of Indianapolis. The School of Education   has an
Indianapolis and Bloomington campus.

Qualifications:
•       Doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in an appropriate field with a
specialization in Urban Education and/or Social Foundations of
Education (such as anthropology of education, critical race theory,
cultural studies, philosophy of education, history of education, or
sociology of education)
•       Major strengths with a social justice and culturally
responsive orientation for schooling
•       A distinctive record of scholarship in social justice-oriented
foundations/urban education research
•       Experience teaching diverse undergraduate and graduate
students in online and face-to-face courses
•       Experience advising undergrad students, masters theses, and
doctoral dissertations
•       A positive reputation for collegial citizenship and service
•       A record of external funding

Duties:
•       Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (online &
face-to-face) in the area of urban education, foundations, and
culturally responsive schooling
•       Be positively committed to a significant level of service in
the School of Education
•       Advise and mentor undergrad and graduate students; direct
masters theses/doctoral dissertations
•       Conduct and publish a strong record of research and scholarship
•       Engage in social justice-oriented work within the Indianapolis
urban community
•       Develop and participate in individual &/or team efforts to
procure external research funds

Specialist: Educational Foundations
Assistant Professor of Education (Tenure Track)
Ohio Wesleyan University

The Department of Education at Ohio Wesleyan University is accepting
applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure track position to
begin in August of 2013.

The successful candidate will teach six courses or equivalent during a
year (two semesters).  This position requires a specialization in
educational foundations (social, historical, philosophical) with
additional expertise in social studies education.  Responsibilities
will include teaching the introductory foundations course, social
studies methods for high school and middle school teacher candidates,
and supervising field experience and student teaching.  Additional
teaching assignments could include courses in the candidate’s area of
specialized expertise

Minimum requirements:  Earned doctorate by time of appointment
preferred, but will consider applicants who have made substantial
progress towards completion of a doctorate (ABD); minimum of four
years experience teaching at the secondary or middle school level.
Experience supervising field experiences and/or student teaching
highly desirable.   Additional requirements include a demonstrated
appreciation for the unique opportunities that teaching in a liberal
arts setting can provide to an intellectually engaged faculty member.
