Presentation Format
We encourage a variety of presentation formats: • Interactive Panel Discussion (45 min.) — A panel discussion with two or more discussants exploring an issue/topic of significance in bilingual/dual language education. The panel invites attendee interaction through dialogue and questioning. • Presentation and Discussion (45 min.) — Through the presentation and discussion format, presenters provide attendees insight into an issue/topic of significance in bilingual/dual education through various mediums (i.e.,Video, Role Play, PowerPoint, etc.). During or immediately following the presentation, attendees are invited to discuss their thoughts and questions in order to extend the learning. • Classroom Project Display/Poster Session (45 min.) — Join other teachers
to set up a table displaying an interesting or exciting project that you did in your classroom. During the session, you will be at the table answering questions and explaining the set-up and execution of the project in your class. This could be for example a project that you did in a dual language classroom, a curricular unit you designed that particularly inspired your students or you, or simply a project that students have done that you are very proud of. • Hands-on Workshop (75 min.) — Through the hands-on workshop, presenters provide the audience opportunities to construct a working knowledge of an issue/topic of significance in bilingual/dual language education. Through the hands-on workshop, attendees increase their understanding by participating in hands-on activities.
