Participants must be proficient in Spanish and have a working knowledge of English to fully participate in all aspects of the Institute.
About our Presenters

- Dr. Julie Sugarman, Center for Applied Linguistics, will outline how effective dual language/bilingual education programs that promote linguistic and cultural equity provide a strong foundation for instruction in Spanish.
- CAL presenters, Dr. Igone Arteagoitia and Ms. Kathleen Davin, will share strategies and practical tools for providing literacy instruction in Spanish and for developing metalinguistic awareness in students that will lead to academic success in both Spanish and English.
