STAND FOR FULBRIGHT Take action this week!

STAND FOR FULBRIGHT
Take action this week!

Dear Fulbright Alumni and Friends:

Last week, we wrote to you regarding our advocacy campaign, Stand For Fulbright, in opposition to a 47% funding cut to the Fulbright Program. We asked that you make your voice heard — and you have:
  • Over 8,000 petition signatures
  • More than 1,300 letters sent to Senators and Representatives
  • 455 members of both chambers have received at least one constituent letter or phone call — that’s 85% of all members!
  • Over 500 social media posts shared using the hashtag #StandForFulbright, seen by over a million people
We've also received great press coverage, including this June 8 feature in the Washington Post.

We are truly grateful for your response and support, and we ask that if you have not yet taken action, you do so now by clicking on the links below.

You know the positive power of Fulbright. You know that it changes lives and keeps America a global leader. You know the world is more peaceful and connected thanks to over 70 years of Fulbright exchanges.

Now imagine it cut in half, its reputation tattered, and the future of the Fulbright Program in doubt. That future could be a reality, as Congress begins considering the proposed 47% cut. You can make a difference by taking action right now. Help us get to 10,000 petition signatures today!

The Fulbright Association is thrilled by the response of members and friends to this campaign. We have heard from many of you that you’re excited to be part of it, standing up for a program you love and respect. That response has been inspiring and powerful. Keep up the momentum and act today — and thank you for joining our Stand for Fulbright.

Help us reach 10,000 petition signatures!
Our campaign will continue throughout the coming months. Here are some ways you can stay involved:
  • Your local chapter is organizing visits to Congressional offices, now and during the August recess. Contact them and join in!
  • Our advocacy platform will remain open all summer — continue sharing it with fellow alumni and supporters.
  • You can support our efforts by making a donation. As a small non-profit, we rely on your help to cover the costs of this campaign.
Registration for our 40th Annual Conference this November is now open — and for the first time in its history, the Conference will include a Fulbright Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. Direct contact is an extremely powerful way to show Congressional representatives the impact of the Fulbright Program on their constituents. Visit our website today to register and reserve a room in our Conference hotel.
