NABE Journal of Research
and Practice (NJRP)
CALL for Submission of Papers for Volume 7—to be
published Feb. 2016
The NJRP focuses on bilingual education, dual language
education, English as a second language (ESL) teaching and learning. The
journal encourages publications by junior authors and also disseminates the
outstanding work of expert authors. The NJRP also encourages collaborative
submissions between faculty mentors and graduate students as well as from K-12 educators
and school administrators. The scope of this journal is the application of
research to address educational issues, as well as to provide a forum for the
discussion of important topics in the form of position papers, reflections and
classroom-based research. We also welcome articles in Spanish and Mandarin
languages in order to connect with bilingual audiences throughout the United
States and beyond. The NJRP is fortunate to have over 90 external reviewers who
are experts in their fields and are affiliated with top Universities in the
United States and abroad.
The Journal invites publications in multidisciplinary fields
as they pertain to the education of culturally-diverse students. These may
include curriculum and instruction, teacher- professional development, early
childhood education, multicultural education, dual-language education, cognitive
processes, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, teaching strategies, and
English learner assessment. The scope of papers includes topics related to the
education of young children through adulthood, spanning from Pre-K through
Grade 12 and from young to older adults in ESL and bilingual settings.
The NJRP has four sections:
Section I includes position
papers.
Section II addresses data-based
research articles.
Section III includes
classroom-based research and instructional strategies, and
Section IV includes articles
written in Spanish and Mandarin.
All papers should be 30 pages or less and they must follow
the American Psychological Association (APA) Manual of Style 6th
edition. The submissions should be original and should not have been submitted
to any other journal for publication consideration. The Deadline for submissions is July 31st, 2015. Please
send your submissions to the journal web: https://www2.nau.edu/nabej-p/ojs/index.php/njrp/index
Peer Review Process and
Timeline: The peer review process
includes a blind review. The NJRP has a large pool of external reviewers and
expert scholars who provide the authors with constructive and timely feedback. The review process is fairly fast. It usually
takes external reviewers between 4-6 weeks to provide you with feedback. We
strongly suggest to you to visit the NJRP website fairly often in order to find
out the status of your article submission. You can also contact our Editorial
Assistant, Xin Wang at: xw37@nau.edu
The NJRP is published once a year in February to coincide
with the NABE annual conference.
Sincerely,
The NJRP Editorial Team
