Call for folks to collaborate on planning the 2nd annual Women’s Empowerment Conference (WE Con for short), to take place in February 2015!

Dear Austin women, feminists, womanists, gender justice activists, and other interested folks -

We are looking for a dedicated team of folks to collaborate on planning the 2nd annual Women’s Empowerment Conference (WE Con for short), to take place in February 2015!

We got great feedback about this year’s event (see http://weconaustin.org/). We want to do even better next year, and one of the ways we want to improve is to be more community-driven. So we would like to invite y’all to come to the brainstorming meeting, join the planning committee, or both!

When is the brainstorming meeting?
Anyone interested in making WE Con great is welcome to join us at 6:30PM, Tuesday, August 12th, at the Women’s Community Center at 1704 San Antonio Street.

What does being on the planning committee involve?

- You’ll attend committee meetings at 6:30PM on the second Tuesday of every month, starting Aug. 12. The meetings will take place at the Women’s Community Center at 1704 San Antonio Street.
- You’ll be a member of the planning committee email list
- You’ll share your ideas about what we should do. Got a great idea for a workshop, panel, or speaker? Know a great nonprofit we should invite to table at the resource fair? Other ideas?
- You’ll meet amazing people and have fun!

Got questions? Want to join us?
Please let us know at conference@womenscommunityctx.org

Please share this invitation with your networks! It’s important to us to make sure that the planning process is inclusive and truly reflects our diverse community, so we especially welcome people of color, LGBTQ folks, low-income/poor/working class people, young adults, people of all nationalities, and people with disabilities.

Thanks so much, and we look forward to working with y’all!

Best,

Andrea, Carrie, & Julie
