1. Assistant/Associate Professor, Socio-Cultural Foundations of
Education, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; review begins 10/1/16
Educational Leadership: Assistant/Associate Professor to envision,
teach and coordinate graduate teaching of the College’s required
socio-cultural studies in education course for pre-service teachers;
teach graduate courses in social and cultural theory related to
education and educational leadership; advise master's and doctoral
students and serve on student committees; mentor graduate students in
teaching and research; assist with program development and
administration; participate in university service; conduct high
quality research that contributes to the theory and practice of
inclusive, engaging learning environments for all students. The start
date for this position will be in August, 2017.
Required: An earned doctorate in Socio-Cultural Foundations of
Education, Educational Studies, or a related field, by time of
appointment. Evidence of excellent teaching. Evidence of established
(for associate rank) or emerging (for assistant rank) scholarly
agenda. Knowledge of and experience with multicultural populations.
Strong candidates will possess experience with critical and liberal
arts approaches to social foundations of education courses for
undergraduates in teacher education programs. Experience with
international, comparative, or transnational studies in education.
Experience or interest in teaching research methods/methodologies.
Experience with online or hybrid teaching. Experience in securing
external funding to support research and programming.
